Chamber Music Today - Seoul, Korea

  • LG Arts Center 508, Nonhyeon-ro Seoul Korea (map)

For the final concert in Chamber Music Today’s festival, we travel eastward to experience the rich harmonic flavors of Bohemia: specifically, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Antonín Dvorak’s jovial American-influenced Sonatina for Violin and Piano opens the program, followed by Ernő Dohnanyi’s explosively virtuosic Serenade in C Major.  The final stop of our Cultural Odyssey is Bedřich Smetana’s characteristically grand, poignant, Piano Trio in g minor, written in memoriam, following the death of his 4-year old daughter.
